Hotel Miramar sits next to the sea in the commercial heart of Arrecife, which on Lanzarote means shops, offices and ferry traffic rather than a promenade of holiday bars. Rooms are large and light and most of them look at the water, each with a minibar, satellite television, a telephone and a bathroom with hairdryer. The restaurant serves local dishes and there is a snack bar for the hours in between, plus a sun terrace, a tour desk and bicycle rental for the flat coast road. Pets are allowed and there is a parking garage, which matters in a city where kerb space is tight. The Gran Canaria ferry berth lies two kilometres along the front, the resort strip of Costa Teguise about five, and a golf course sits within three kilometres of the door.
